I. ARTIFICIAL GENERAL INTELLIGENCE: SCIENCE-FICTION OR
THE NEAR FUTURE?
The open question remains whether it is possible to create an Artificial
Intelligence (AI) that will be human-like or will exceed human intelligence
(AGI), and if so, when will it be created. Among the scientists involved in AI
research, there are as many sceptics as believers in this “Holy Grail” of AI.
Despite the seemingly speculative nature of the AGI, research and
development work towards its creation is already underway 2. In his new
book, “Architects of Intelligence”, writer and futurist Martin Ford interviewed
