1. INTRODUCTION
It is a reality that nowadays we live in digitalized societies, by using the
electronic communication systems based on internet not just for entertainment,
interpersonal communication, but also for work and education. In the context of
the COVID-19 pandemic, in all developed states and not only, most of activities
are online. People are constantly connected to the internet, especially through
smartphones or tablets where multiple applications are installed. The use of these
apps requires access to data stored on users’ devices. Directly or indirectly, these
data lead to personal identification and are qualified as personal data1.
As early as 1965, I. J. Good questioned the effects that may result from the
development of artificial intelligence. He pointed out that: the invention of an
ultra-intelligent machine will be the last thing man has to do, provided it is docile
enough to show us how to keep it under control2.
