1. INTRODUCTORY REMARKS
The importance of the issue of artificial intelligence, also in the workplace,
has been noticed in recent years both within the Council of Europe and the
European Union.
The first meeting of experts from the Ad hoc Committee on AI (CAHAI),
established by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, took
place from 18 to 20 November 2019 in Strasbourg. CAHAI is developing a
legal framework for AI based on the Council of Europe’s standards for human
rights, democracy and the rule of law. They will cover the development, design
and application of AI33. However, the results of previous analyses carried out
