RESUMEN: La pandemia de COVID-19 ha precarizado aún más las condiciones en

las que los migrantes cruzan el Mediterráneo por su ruta central. Si bien en los inicios

de la pandemia las llegadas de migrantes decayeron, la ruta central ha permanecido

bastante activa. Sin embargo, la vulnerabilidad ha aumentado fruto de las restricciones

a la movilidad.

THE CENTRAL MEDITERRANEAN MIGRATION ROUTE IN TIMES OF

PANDEMIC: CHANGE IN THE RULES OF THE GAME?

ABSTRACT: The COVID-19 pandemic has made the conditions in which migrants

cross the central Mediterranean route even more precarious. Although migrant arrivals

declined at the beginning of the pandemic, the central route has remained quite active.

However, vulnerability has increased as a result of mobility restrictions.
