Constitution
The Commerce Clause: Article 1, Section 8
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties,
Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common
Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties,
Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
. . . To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the
several States, and with the Indian Tribes . . .
The Judicial Power: Article 3, Section 1
The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one su-
preme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from
time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme
and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour,
and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services a Compensa-
tion, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in
Office.
The Supremacy Clause: Article 6, Section 2
[The] Constitution and the laws of the United States . . . shall be the
supreme law of the land . . . anything in the constitutions or laws of
any State to the contrary notwithstanding.
