ITC Executive Director reappointed for three-year term.

Mr. J. Denis Belisle of Canada has been reappointed as Executive Director of the International Trade Centre by Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations.

The appointment, which runs until June 2006, is made on the recommendation of Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, Director-General of WTO and Mr. Rubens Ricupero, Secretary-General of UNCTAD.

Mr. Belisle took up his post as ITC's Executive Director in June 1994, and was reappointed in 1997 and 20CC. Under his tenure, ITC conducted a continued process of reform and renewal. Requests grow steadily from developing and transition economies for concrete support to their exporters. In 2002, ITC witnessed a 21% increase in delivery.
