abStract

The prese nt article d iscuss es the dairy sector r elated issu es of the

Common Agr icultur al Policy (caP) in the Europ ean Union, bei ng, for

this pur pose, one of the m ost import ant agricu ltural sub -sector s. The

historic d evelopment of caP demonstrate s its protectionist natu re from

its origin s; although its re cent reforms s eem to recog nize g rowing market

orientation. T he caP has bee n inuenced by ch anging policy p aradigms,

whereas mult ifunct ionality p revails a nd result i n the except ional tre atment

of agricu lture. Public polic y actors exercise sign icant inuence on t he

development of caP. There fore, the post-2013 caP projection s are analy zed

considering the different interests of dairy sector stakeholders.
