ANNOUNCEMENT
CGIR Best Reviewer Award
Corporate Governance: An International Review (CGIR) is fortunate to
have many talented and dedicated individuals who offer their time
and expertise to review for our journal. We are also fortunate to have
more than 80 dedicated and established governance scholars serving
on our Editorial Board, and over 2,000 ad hoc reviewers in our online
database. Of course, some reviewers stand out for providing consis-
tently exemplary work for the journal, and we are highly appreciative
of their efforts. Clearly, this professionalism and dedication need to
be acknowledged and celebrated.
In order to recognize some of the truly exceptional reviewers
here at CGIR, the journal offers an annual best revieweraward to
those individuals who truly stand out. Listed below are the previous

In 2019, we are delighted to announce that the two recipients of
our best reviewer awards are Stergios Leventis from the International
Hellenic University in Greece and Wai Ching Poon from Monash Uni-
versity, Malaysia. Both colleagues are long-standing members of our
Editorial Board and have already received this honorable award in the
past. This indicates their continued and great support of the journal
that really sets an example. Their referee reports were evaluated to
be comprehensive in scope, substantially detailed, and constructive in
tone. Remarkably, the average turnaround time of their reviews was
just about 12 days and hence far below the five weeks that we grant
to referees to submit their reviews. Clearly, this great service helps us
tremendously to provide the constructive and fast feedback to sub-
mitting authors for which CGIR is known and stands for in our
research community.
As a token of our appreciation for Stergiosand Wai Chings ser-
vice to the journal, we will be providing them each with a plaque, simi-
lar to our previous distinguished award winners. While this plaque
could never compensate them for their many years of training and
expertise as well as their many hours of extraordinary service to the
journal, it is a tangible symbol of their generous and professional con-
tributions to international corporate governance scholarship.
