ANNOUNCEMENT
2017 Best Reviewer Awards for CGIR
Corporate Governance: An International Review (CGIR) is fortunate to
have many talented and dedicated individuals who offer their time and
expertise to do reviewing for our journal. We are also fortunate to
have more than 60 dedicated and established governance scholars
serving on our editorial review board, and over 2,000 ad hoc reviewers
in our online database. Of course, some reviewers stand out for pro-
viding consistently exemplary work for the journal, and we are highly
appreciative of their efforts. Notably, all of this work is voluntary
and the only compensation is a free subscription to the journal and a
listing on our masthead for those who serve on our editorial review
board. Clearly, this professionalism and dedication need to be recog-
nized and celebrated.
In order to recognize some of the truly exceptional reviewers here
at CGIR, the journal conducts an annual best revieweraward in order
to recognize those individuals who truly stand out. Our policy is of not
repeating winners in a 3year period as we would like to enlarge the
number of scholars which we would like to recognize for their great
contribution to the journal.
Listed below are the previous award winners:

In 2017, we are pleased to announce two best reviewer awards.
The first reviewer recognized for his contributions to our journal is
Richard Gentry. Richard is the Mac Elliot Chair of Entrepreneurship
and Associate Professor of Management at the University of Missis-
sippi. Richard received a PhD in Management at University of Florida.
His contribution to the journal has been excellent as he has provided a
number of quality and timely (with an average of about 31 days)
reviews. In 2017, Richard handled 5 manuscripts and earned an excel-
lent average reviewer score of 2.83 (out of 3.0). We commend Richard
for his extensive and developmental reviews.
In addition to Richard, we would also like to recognize as an out-
standing reviewer Lerong He. Lerong is an Associate Professor at the
College at Brockport of the State University of New York. She
received a PhD from University of Pennsylvania. In 2017, Lerong han-
dled 5 manuscripts with an excellent average reviewer score of 2.81
and a low turnaround time (about 35 days). Thanks to her timely and
remarkable reviews, Lerong contributed significantly to the editorial
review process of CGIR.
As a token of our appreciation for Richard's and Lerong's service
to the journal, we will be providing them each with a plaque, similar
to our previous distinguished award winners. While this plaque could
never compensate them for their many years of training and expertise
as well as their many hours of extraordinary service to the journal, it is
a tangible symbol of their generous and professional contributions to
international corporate governance scholarship. On behalf of Wiley
Blackwell and CGIR, we recognize and celebrate scholars such Richard
Gentry and Lerong He for their service to the field.
