Setting tyres on fire and blockading thoroughfares in Managua, riot police were called in to forcibly disperse the large crowd of protesting taxi drivers. Rounding up protesters and pulling drivers out of their taxis, scuffles erupted as the authorities attempted to arrest demonstrators.
