Ulla Klingovsky is professor of Adult and Further Education at the School of Education
of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. She
also heads the focus studies of Adult and Further Education in the Master
Program of Educational Sciences at University of Basel. She represented the
professorship of Adult and Further Education at the Technical University
Darmstadt between 2011 and 2013 and at the Martin-Luther-University of
Halle-Wittenberg between 2014 and 1015. Her research focus is on philoso-
phy of education, instructional design, higher education teaching, diversity and
digital literacy. As a consultant, she participates in conferences, workshops, and
seminars and facilitates the development of change management strategies
around complex learning processes and learning environments within universi-
ties, companies and organisations.
Georges Pfründer since April 2015 is professor and chair of the Centre of Art
Education and Theatre Pedagogics in the School of Education of the University
of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (PH FHNW). Between
2009 and 2014, he headed the Wits School of Arts (WSOA) at the University
of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. From 1996 to 2009, he directed
the Fine Arts Academy “Ecole Cantonale d’Art du Valais” (ECAV) in Switzerland,
where he initiated programmes such as MAPS (Master of Art in Public Sphere)
and the Research Centre CRIC (Centre de réflexion sur l’image et ses contexts). As
an artist and researcher, he has participated in conferences, panels and residency
programs in Europe, USA, Asia and Africa and is contributing to various research
initiatives which involve researchers from across Africa and Europe.
