NOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS
Valter Shuenquener de Araujois a Brazilian Federal Judge. Currently,
he is working as the Secretary for Legal Aairs of the Organization of
American States (OAS) in Washington D.C. In addition, he is a Former
Secretary General of the Brazilian National Council of Justice (CNJ)
and Coordinator of its Observatory of Human Rights (2020-2022). He
is also a Professor of Administrative Law at the State University of Rio
de Janeiro—UERJ. with a PhD in Public Law (UERJ) and a Master’s in
public law (UERJ).
Intan N. Cahyana is a law lecturer at Trisakti University Faculty of Law.
Her research interest is in the intersection between postcoloniality,
agrarian law, and peasant radicalism. at said, her current research
agenda is aimed to shed light on the historical and contemporary
struggles of peasants in Indonesia who have been marginalized due
to the colonial legacies of land ownership. Her research has also
highlighted how the Indonesian government has failed to protect the
rights of peasants and has oen sided with multinational corporations
in land disputes. Her expertise in the eld of agrarian law and peasant
radicalism has made her a sought-aer speaker and consultant, and she
has been invited to provide expert opinions on various legal and policy
issues related to land ownership and peasant rights.
Currently, Anderson de Paiva Gabriel is a Visiting Scholar at Stanford
Law School while serving as a Brazilian State Judge and Auxiliary Judge
of the Brazilian Chief Justice Luiz Fux in the National Council of Justice
—CNJ (2020-2022). In addition, he is also a Professor at the School of
Magistrates of the State of Rio de Janeiro (EMERJ) and at the School of
Judicial Administration (ESAJ) and a Visiting Scholar at Berkeley Law
School (2020). Member of the Data Protection Manager Committee
(CGPDP) of the TJRJ and former member of the Information Security
Management Committee (CGSI) of the TJRJ from 2019-2020.
Previously, he served as a Chief of Police in the State of Rio de Janeiro
(2010-2017) and in the State of Santa Catarina (2009-2010). He earned
a PhD (Doctorate) and an LL.M. (Master) in Procedural Law from
the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). In addition, he holds a
degree in Juridical and Social Sciences (Cum Laude) from the Federal
