Participants in two special meetings concerned with Palestinian rights have backed a "land for peace" formula and a two-state solution-one Israeli, one Palestinian-to the problem of Palestine.
The meetings were the eighth UN North American Regional NGO Symposium on the Question of Palestine, held in Montreal from 28 to 30 June, and the sixth UN European Seminar, convened in Madrid from 27 to 30 May.
