The International Federation of
Operational Research Societies (IFORS)
IFORS is an international organization of national societies whose primary objective is the advancement of operational
research. Its aims are the development of operational research as a uni ed science and its advancement in all nations of
the world.
IFORS was established in 1959 and its initial membership consisted of the Operations Research Society of America,
the Operational Research Society of the United Kingdom, and the Société Franc¸aise de Recherche Operationnelle.
IFORS has 48 National Member Societies and 5 Kindred Member Societies.
