FARC Ceasefire Proposal Rejected

Santos on Thursday night rejected a proposal by the rebel Armed Revolutionary Forces of Colombia (FARC), saying "there will be no ceasefire of any kind". Earlier in the day, the FARC said it would seek a ceasefire with the government at the start of peace talks next month. SOUNDBITE (SPANISH) MAURICIO JARAMILLO, FARC Spokesman: "We will ask for a ceasefire, we will fight it and discuss it at the negotiating table as it will be one of the first points. We have a clear agenda to start, which is the issue of land but we will raise the bilateral ceasefire" Also at the news conference, the FARC named two negotiators who will sit with government representatives in Oslo and later in Cuba for talks.
