British officials contacted the Ecuadorian foreign ministry on Saturday to discuss a resumption of talks after Britain had threatened to arrest Assange in Ecuador's embassy in London. British diplomats have repeated that the government was simply setting out legal options. A British government official said, "We are continuing to seek a diplomatic solution... We remain ready to continue the conversations we have had, but that is now a question for the Ecuadorians." However, Ecuador shows little friendly sign to talks over the issue. Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa said Britain's "direct threat" about entering the embassy was "offensive, inconsiderate and intolerable".
