CALL FOR PAPERS
The International
Journal
of
Cuban Studies welcomes
contributions
from
all
disciplines.
The
journal
is
divided
into
sections and contributions are
gratefully
accepted
for all of the
following:
Academic Articles
Well-researched,
well-argued,
scholarly
articles,
subject
to
scrutiny by qualified
referees,
provide
the
mainstay
of the
journal.
Where
possible,
but not
exclusively,
articles
will
be selected to
complement
issues addressed
in
other sections.
Deadline
for submission is five months
prior
to
the
publication.
Science,
Society
and Health
This
section
may
include
articles
presented
in
the form described
above,
but
its
primary
aim is to understand these areas as part
of
the Cuban 'project',
and how
they integrate
with
political
and economic
processes.
Moreover,
some
of the work on science and health is highly specialised
and
normally
outside
the
reach
of those with a more
general
interest
in
Cuba,
therefore articles in
this section
will
attempt
to make these areas more accessible so they
can be
understood
by
a wider audience.
Deadline
for
submission is three months
prior
to
publication.
Testimonials
Because Cuba
attracts
so much
interest
many people
with a
specialised knowledge
or
experience
visit the island to assess how their
particular
area
is
dealt with
in
a socialist
system.
Sometimes these
surveys
are
presented
as academic
articles,
but often
they
remain obscure and unknown because
they
do not have a
channel
for
publication.
This is a potentially
rich area of
knowledge
that can help
our
understanding
of Cuba. Deadline
for
submission is three months
prior
to
publication.
Politics and Debate
This section includes
polemics
from all sides of the
policy
debate
on Cuba.
Deadline
for
submission:
14
weeks
prior
to
publication.
