WTO And FAO To Enhance Trade And Food Safety

The World Trade Organization ("WTO") and the Food and Agriculture Organization ("FAO") met on November 2, 2015, to announce they are strengthening their collaboration on food safety and sanitary and phytosanitary standards to facilitate international food trade and to promote development in the poorest countries. The WTO Director-General Roberto Azevêdo said that the WTO seeks "to ensure that the global trading system works for all, that it is fair and balanced [...] and allows people to access the goods and services that they need."
