Uzbek Railways suspends transportation to Afghanistan

Uzbek Railways" suspended transportation to Afghanistan due to failure to fulfill the obligations assumed by Kabul for technical work, the Uzbek company reports.

Transportation was carried out by the railway "Galaba - Hairatan". Representatives of the two countries at the end of December last year agreed on an action plan for technical work in Afghanistan by February 1, 2023.

"Due to the fact that the Afghan Railway Administration does not have time to implement the agreed measures on time, it is announced that rail transportation to Afghanistan will be suspended from February 1," the report says.
