Tv Coverage of Major Events in Focus of Osce Course in Turkmenistan

AKIPRESS.COM - An OSCE-organized course on TV coverage of major events for editors and camera operators from Turkmenistan's TV channels concluded on 5 May in Ashgabat, the OSCE said.

The OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, in co-operation with the State Committee for TV, Radio and Cinematography of Turkmenistan, organized the four-day course to contribute to the efforts of the host Government with the aim of strengthening the professional capacities of TV journalists in line with modern standards."In 2009, the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media organized the Central Asia Media Conference which stressed the importance of international co-operation on journalism education and capacity building in the OSCE participating States," said Ambassador Natalya Drozd, Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat.

The training course addressed modern approaches to the TV coverage of major events, the concept and formats of news coverage, and methods of newsgathering for TV programmes."Turkmenistan regularly hosts large scale international conferences and forums addressing topical issues of the modern world, including energy and transport security, environmental protection and sustainable development.
