Toktogul dam contains 10.6 billion cbm of water now, 818 million cbm more than last year - Deputy Chairman of Cabinet

The Toktogul dam contains 10.6 billion cubic meters of water at present. This is by 818 million cubic meters more than last year, Deputy Chairman of Cabinet Bakyt Torobaev told Birinchi Radio.

The record high consumption of electricity is observed during the last several days in connection with frosts, which reached 76 million kWh. At the same time the highest level of water discharge from the Toktogul dam has been recorded, he said.

Electricity consumption during 2022 heating season made 15.9 billion kWh. In 2023, it is expected to make 16.6 billion kWh. Shortage may make 1.9 billion kWh. To reduce the shortage, contracts were signed for import of 2.0 billion kWh...
