Tokayev proposes to consider privatizing large healthcare organizations in Astana

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev believes that the government should consider the feasibility of privatizing large healthcare organizations as a part of demonopolization, Vlast reported.

"Complaints are received regarding the low quality and availability of medical services in the capital. Growing demographics play an important role. The population of Astana has increased by 2.5 times over the past 10 years. The medical infrastructure does not correspond with the population growth. There are queues in outpatient treatment clinics, in maternity hospitals, there is a shortage of places, and they are overloaded by 68%," Tokayev said on Tuesday during a meeting on the capital's development.
