Tajik Authorities Blaming Uzbek Border Guards for Murder of Shepherd

AKIPRESS.COM - Authorities of Tajikistan blamed the Uzbek border guards for violation of the state border regime, illegal entrance to the territory of the country, murder of the local resident and kidnaping his body, reports the press service of the Border Troops of the National Security Committee of Tajikistan.

The Committee said the incident occurred on April 15 at about 5:30 pm local time. "Uzbek border guards violated the border regime entering to Tajikistan for 100 meters from the border line and committed an armed attack on three citizens of Tajikistan, the residents of Tursunzade city, that were grazing their cattle," says the statement.

According to the Tajik side, three residents of Tursunzade were grazing their cattle near the border. After, two Uzbek border guards entered the territory of Tajikistan at the distance of 100 meters from the border line and detained the shepherds.

The Tajik side claims that the shepherds were detained by Uzbek border guards when they decided to move the cattle back. During detention, locals said that the troops were on the territory of Tajikistan and they will tell about their violation of the border regime to chief of the Tajik border unit.
