Shadow turnover varies between $5 to 10 million a day in Bishkek - Cabinet Chairman

The restrictions imposed on banking sector (VISA and MasterCard money transfers) gave a significant impetus to development of cryptocurrency in the Central Asian region, Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said at the plenary session of Digital Almaty 2023 Forum.
Experts estimate the volume of shadow turnover in Bishkek between $5 to 10 million a day, he said.
"Cryptocurrency may produce both positive and negative impact on economic development of the country," Akylbek Japarov stated.
