Secretario de estado español para iberoamérica asegura que se abre “una nueva etapa” entre europa y américa latina y el caribe

El Secretario de Estado de España para Iberoamérica, Juan Pablo de Laiglesia, aseguró que tras la reciente Cumbre de Madrid “se abre una nueva etapa en las relaciones entre Europa, América Latina y el Caribe”. “Ahora hablaremos de un antes y un después”, sentenció en su exposición como único orador en la Cuadragésima Cátedra de las Américas que se realizó en Lima, en el marco de la XL Asamblea General de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA).
De Laiglesia añadió que en la IV Cumbre de la Unión Europea, América Latina y el Caribe, realizada en el mes de mayo en Madrid, se lograron importantes avances, pero aún hay retos que enfrentar, como “romper el estancamiento de los diálogos entre Europa, América del Norte, América Latina y el Caribe”. “Todos tenemos la esperanza que ahora sí, estos tres ejes establezcan un nuevo tipo de diálogo estratégico de manera que podamos cerrar ese triángulo virtuoso y trabajar para las soluciones de los problemas de la agenda global”, añadió.
El diplomático español recalcó que el éxito de la Cumbre de Madrid se debió al desarrollo de cuatro pilares fundamentales: “La nueva visión de la Asociación global entre Europa y América Latina, la conclusión del ciclo de acuerdos a nivel subregional; la ampliación de las relaciones bilaterales en la relación de Europa con países como México y Chile, y la incorporación de la sociedad civil”. De Laiglesia destacó además que, en Madrid, por primera vez los representante sociales “llegaron a los gobiernos para crear una rutina de participación”.
