The Ge neral As sembly,
Recalling its re solutions 194 (III) of 11 De cember 19 48, 212 (III) of
19 November 1948, 302 (IV) of 8 Decem ber 194 9 and a ll subse quent related
resolu tions, in cluding i ts resolut ion 75/94 of 10 Dece mber 202 0,
Recal ling also the rel evant res olutions of the Se curity Coun cil,
Having consid ered the report of t he Commi ssioner- General of the United
Natio ns Reli ef and Work s Agency for P alestine Refugee s in t he Near East covering
the p eriod fro m 1 Janua ry to 31 Decem ber 2020,

Taking note of t he lette r d ated 1 July 2021 from th e C hair of the Advisory
Commi ssion of the Agency addressed to the C ommissio ner-Gener al,

Under linin g that, at a time of he ightened conflict and i nstability in th e Middle
East, t he Age ncy continu es to play a vita l role in amel iorating th e plight of the
Palest ine refugees thro ugh the provision of, int er a lia, essential ed ucation, healt h,
relie f and soci al servic es program mes and e mergency assistan ce to a r egistered
popula tion of mor e than 5.7 mi llion refug ees whose s ituat ion is ext remely prec arious,
in mi tigating t he consequ ences of al arming tre nds in the Age ncy’s areas of operati on,
inclu ding increas ing viol ence, margin aliza tion and pover ty and the impact of th e
corona virus disease (COV ID-19) pandem ic, and in pr oviding a crucial measu re of
stabi lity in t he region,
