Reca llin g i ts prev ious re solutio ns on the sub ject, i ncluding resol ution 75/86 of

7 De cember 2 020,

Reaffirm ing the prim ary r ole of th e Me diterra nean countri es in str engtheni ng

and promotin g peace , securi ty and c oopera tion in the Med iterrane an regio n,

Welcomi ng the effort s d eployed b y t he Euro -Medit erranean c ountries to

stren gthen th eir c ooperat ion in com bating t errorism , in part icular th rough th e

adop tion of the Euro-Me diterra nean Code of Conduc t on Count ering Terr orism by th e

Euro -Medite rranean Su mmit, hel d in Barce lona, Spai n, on 27 and 2 8 Novembe r 2005,

Bear ing in mind all the pr evious declara tions and co mmitme nts, a s well as a ll

the i nitiativ es taken by th e ripari an count ries at th e recent summit s, minis terial

meet ings and variou s forums concern ing the questio n of the Mediter ranean region,

Reca llin g, i n this regard, the ad option on 13 J uly 200 8 of th e Joint Declar ation

of t he Paris Summit for th e Medite rranean, which launche d a rein forced partner ship,

name d the “B arcelona Process : Union f or the M editerra nean”, a nd the co mmon

poli tical w ill to revive effort s to transfor m the Medite rranean into an are a of peace,

demo cracy, coo peratio n and pr osperity,
