The Genera l Assembly ,
Guided by the purp oses and p rinciples of the C harter of the Unit ed Nations ,
Recalling its reso lutions 64/ 292 of 28 July 20 10, in which it recogniz ed the right
to s afe and clean d rinking water a nd sanit ation a s a hu man righ t that is essen tial for
the full enjoyme nt of life and all human rights, and 74/141 of 18 De cember 2019,
entit led “The human rig hts to sa fe drinkin g water a nd sanit ation”,
Reaffirming all pre vious resol utions of t he Human Ri ghts Counc il regardi ng the
human rights to s afe drinki ng water a nd sanitat ion, inter alia, Counc il resolut ion 45/ 8
of 6 October 2020,

Recal ling a lso th at the human rights to safe dr inking water and s anitation are
