Reca llin g Se curity C ouncil re solutio n 1996 ( 2011) of 8 July 20 11, by wh ich the

Coun cil estab lished, a s from 9 Jul y 2011, the U nited Nat ions Miss ion in Sou th Sudan,

and the subse quent resolu tions by which the Coun cil extended the man date of the

Miss ion, the latest o f which was res olution 2567 ( 2021) o f 12 Mar ch 2021, by whi ch

the Council extended the ma ndate of the Mi ssion un til 15 M arch 20 22,

Reca llin g als o it s resolu tion 66/ 243 A of 24 Decembe r 2011 on the fin ancing o f

the M ission a nd its sub sequent resoluti ons ther eon, the l atest of which wa s resolu tion

74/2 93 o f 30 Jun e 2020, as well as its decision 74/571 of 3 Se ptember 2020,

Reaffirm ing th e gen eral p rinciple s und erlying the financin g of United Natio ns

peac ekeeping ope rations, as state d in its resol utions 187 4 (S -IV) of 2 7 Ju ne 1 963,

3101 (XXVII I) of 11 Decembe r 1973 and 55/ 235 of 23 D ecember 2000,

Mind ful of the fact that it is es sential to pro vide th e Missi on with the f inancia l

resou rces n ecessary to e nable i t to f ulfil i ts resp onsibi lities unde r the rele vant

resol utions o f the S ecurity Council,

1. Requ ests the Secreta ry-Gene ral to en trust the Head of Missio n wi th th e

task of form ulating future budget p roposal s in ful l accor dance wi th the provisio ns of

its resolut ions 59/296 of 22 Jun e 200 5, 60/ 266 o f 30 June 2006, 61/27 6 of 29 June

2007 , 64 /26 9 of 24 June 2010, 65 /289 of 30 June 2011, 66/2 64 of 21 June 201 2,
