Having considered the rep orts of the Secretary -General on the financin g of th e

Unite d Nations P eacekeepi ng Force i n Cyprus

and t he relate d report of the Advisory

Commi ttee on Adm inistrati ve and Bu dgetary Q uestions,

Recalling S ecurity Council resol ution 186 (1964) of 4 Mar ch 1964 regardin g

the e stablishme nt of the United N ations Pea cekeeping Force in C yprus and t he

subse quent re soluti ons by which th e Counci l extend ed the m andate of th e Force, the

lates t of which w as resolut ion 2561 (2021) of 29 January 2021, by w hich the Council

exten ded the m andate o f the Forc e until 3 1 July 202 1,

Recal ling al so its resoluti on 47/236 of 14 September 1993 on the financin g of

the Force and its subsequent resol utions and decisions the reon, the latest of wh ich

was re solution 74/28 5 of 30 June 20 20, as wel l as its de cision 74/ 571 of 3 S eptember

2020,

Reaffirming the gener al pri nciples underlyin g the financin g of United Nations

peace keeping operat ions, as st ated in it s resol utions 1874 (S-IV) of 27 June 1963,

3101 (XXVIII) of 11 Dece mber 1973 and 55/ 235 of 23 Dec ember 200 0,

Notin g wit h app reciation that vol untary contribu tions have been made to the

Force by certa in Governm ents,

Noting that vol untary cont ribution s were insuffi cient to cove r all the cos ts of the

Force, inclu ding th ose incu rred by troop-c ontributin g Gover nments p rior to 16 Ju ne

1993, and regre tting the absence of an a dequate respon se to app eals for volunt ary
