Eradication of Pove rty (2 018–2 027)

The Gene ral Assembly,

Recalling its resolutions 72/ 233 of 20 December 2017 , 73/246 of 20 December

2018 and 74/234 of 19 Decembe r 2019 and all othe r resolutions rel ated to the

eradicat ion of poverty,

Reaffirm ing its reso lution 70 /1 o f 25 September 2015, entitled “Transforming

our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainabl e Devel opment”, in which it a dopted a

comprehe nsive, far- reaching and people-c entred set of univer sal and transformative

Sustaina ble Development G oals and targets, its commitmen t to working tirel essly for

the full i mplementation o f the Ag enda by 2030, its r ecognition that e radicating

poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greates t

global challenge and an indispensa ble requir ement for sustai nable devel opment, it s

commitme nt to achi eving sustaina ble d evelopment in its thr ee di mensions –

economic , social and environmental – in a balanced and integ rated man ner, and to

building upon the achievement s of the Millennium Development Goals and seekin g

to addre ss their unfin ished business,

Reaffirm ing also its resolution 69/313 of 27 July 2015 on the Ad dis Ababa

Action Agend a of the Third Inte rnational Confe rence on Financi ng for Developme nt,

which is an integr al part of the 2030 Agen da for Sust ainable Develo pment, suppor ts

and com plements it, helps to contextu alize its me ans of impl ementation ta rgets with

concrete policies and a ctions, and re affirms the stro ng political co mmitment to

address the challenge of financing a nd creating an enabling envir onment at all levels

for sust ainable develop ment in the sp irit of global partnership an d solidarity,
