The General Assembly ,

Havi ng consi dered in depth the ques tion of Wes tern Sa hara,

Reaffirm ing th e ina lienable right of all peo ples t o sel f-deter minatio n and

inde pendenc e, in acco rdance w ith the p rincipl es set for th in the Charter of the U nited

Nati ons and Gene ral As sembly resol ution 1514 (XV) of 14 D ecember 1960

cont aining the Declar ation on the Granting of Inde pendenc e to Colo nial Countr ies

and Peoples,

Reco gniz ing that all availab le op tions for s elf-de terminat ion of the Territor ies

are valid as long as th ey ar e in accord ance with the fr eely expre ssed wishes of t he

peop le conc erned and in confor mity wi th the clearly defin ed prin ciples containe d in

Gene ral Asse mbly re solutio ns 151 4 (XV) and 1541 ( XV) o f 15 D ecembe r 1960 and

othe r resolu tions of the Asse mbly,
