The General Assembly ,

Reaf firm ing the impo rtance of its resoluti on 44/25 of 20 N ovember 198 9, b y

whic h it adopte d the Conv ention on the R ights of t he Ch ild,

whi ch co nstitute s the

stand ard in the promoti on and pro tection o f the righ ts of the ch ild, and welcomin g the

celeb ration of the t hirtieth anniver sary in 2019 of its adop tion,

Reaf firming also that State s parti es to the Conve ntion shall unde rtake all

appr opriate measur es for the i mplemen tation of th e right s reco gnized therein , whil e

bear ing in mind the impo rtance of the Opt ional Proto cols to the Conve ntion

and

calli ng for t heir univ ersal ra tificatio n and eff ective i mplement ation, a s well as that of

othe r human rights i nstrume nts,

Reca llin g all of it s previou s resoluti ons on the ri ghts of the ch ild, the mos t recent

of which was resol ution 73/15 5 of 17 De cember 2018 , and reca lling also all other

relev ant reso lutions on this ma tter, inc luding re solutio n 73/15 4 of 17 Dece mber 201 8

on pr otecting children from bull ying and r esolut ion 73/3 27 of 25 July 20 19, by wh ich

it de clared 2 021 the Interna tional Year for the Eliminat ion of Child La bour,

Reaf firm ing the Uni versal Declarat ion of Human R ights,

all human being s are born free and e qual i n dig nity a nd rig hts an d tha t ever yone is

entit led to al l the rig hts and freedom s set out therein, without distinc tion of a ny kind,
