The General Assembly ,

Reca llin g i ts reso lution 48/2 o f 13 O ctober 1993, by whi ch it granted observe r

statu s to the Econo mic Coop eration Organiza tion,

Reca llin g als o it s previ ous reso lutions on coop eration betwee n the Un ited

Nati ons and the Ec onomic Co operatio n Organiza tion, in whi ch it invited v ariou s

spec ialized agenc ies, as we ll a s othe r org anizatio ns a nd pr ogramme s of the United

Nati ons syste m and rele vant fin ancial in stitutio ns, to join in the effo rts towa rds

reali zing its goals a nd the o bjectiv es of the Econo mic Coop eration Organiz ation,

Appre ciat ing the effor ts of t he Eco nomic C ooperat ion Org anizatio n to

stre ngthen its r elations w ith the Uni ted Natio ns system a nd with rele vant inter nationa l

and region al orga nizatio ns for the develop ment and i mplement ation of pro jects and

prog rammes in areas of com mon int erest,

Noting the effor ts ma de b y the Uni ted Nations syst em a nd th e rel evant

inter nationa l and re gional or ganizat ions in e xtendin g techni cal and finan cial

assis tance to th e Econ omic C ooperati on Org anizatio n for the d evelop ment an d

impl ementati on o f pr ogramme s and proj ects pertain ing t o soc ioecono mic p rogress ,

and encourag ing the m to con tinue th eir supp ort,

1. Takes n ote with apprecia tion of the repo rt of the Secreta ry-Gen eral on the

impl ementati on of r esolutio n 7 1/1 6 of 21 Novemb er 2 016,

and ack nowledg es t he

growi ng coop eration between the two organi zations;

2. Takes no te of the Ec onomic Co operatio n Organiz ation Visio n 2025 and t he

Isla mabad Decla ration, iss ued at the thirtee nth summit meet ing of Head s of St ate

and/ or G overnme nt of the S tates me mbers of th e E conomic C ooperat ion

Organ ization, held i n Islama bad on 1 March 2017;
