73/243. Follow-up t o the second United Nati ons Conferen ce on Landlocked
Developing Countri es
The Gene ral Assembly,
Recallin g the Vienna Declarat ion and the Vienna Programme of Action for
Landlock ed Developing Countries for the Decade 2014–2024, adopte d at the sec ond
United Nation s Con ference on Landlocked Developi ng Co untries, held in Vienna
from 3 to 5 Nov ember 2014,

at wh ich all relevant stak eholders expressed t heir
commitme nt to the impl ementation of t he Programme of Action,
Reaffirm ing the o verarching goal o f the Vienna Progr amme of Action of
addressi ng the special de velopment needs and challenges of land locked dev eloping
countrie s arising from th eir landlockedn ess, remoteness and geographical constraints
in a more coh erent manner and th us contribut ing to an enhanced rate of sustainable
and inclusive growth, which can contribute to t he erad ication of poverty in al l its
forms an d dimensions, i ncluding extre me poverty,
Recallin g its resolut ions 71/239 of 21 D ecember 2016 and 72/232 of
20 December 2017,
Reaffirm ing its res olution 7 0/1 of 25 Se ptember 2 015, enti tled “Tran sforming
our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainabl e Devel opment ”, in which it adopted a
comprehe nsive, far- reaching and people-c entred set of univer sal and transformative
Sustaina ble Development G oals and targets, its commitment t o working tire lessly for
the full i mplementation o f the Ag enda by 2030, its r ecognition that e radicating
poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greates t
global challenge and an indispensa ble requir ement for sustainabl e develo pment, i ts
commitme nt to achi eving su stainable develop ment in it s three di mensions
economic , social and environ mental — in a balanced and integ rated manner, and to
