Reca llin g its re solutio n 47/196 of 2 2 Decemb er 1992, b y which it de clared

17 Octo ber the Interna tional Day f or the Eradi cation of Po verty, as well as its

resol ution 7 1/18 6 o f 19 Dece mber 20 16 and i ts previ ous reso lutions on huma n rights

and extreme poverty, i n which it reaff irmed th at extre me pove rty and exclusio n from

soci ety con stituted a vi olation of hu man dig nity an d an obstacl e to t he fulf ilment of

all h uman rig hts and th at urgent natio nal and i nternati onal acti on was th erefore

requ ired to eliminat e them,

reco gnized that the e nhancem ent o f int ernation al coo peratio n in the field of hu man

right s was essent ial for the effectiv e unde rstandin g, pro motion and p rotectio n of all
