repor ts subm itted to it;

2. Al so rea ffirms its over sight role and the role of the Fifth Com mittee in

admi nistrati ve and b udgetar y matter s;

3. Fu rther re affirms the i ndepend ence a nd the separa te and distin ct role s of

the i nternal and ext ernal ov ersight mechani sms;

4. Re call s that the Office of Inte rnal Oversi ght Service s of the Secr etariat

shall ex ercise oper ational inde pendenc e re lating to the perfo rmance of its inter nal

over sight fun ctions, under th e author ity of the Secreta ry-Gen eral, in accorda nce

with the rele vant re solution s;
