Reca llin g it s resolu tion 57 /2 o f 16 Sept ember 2 002 on t he Unite d Natio ns

Decl aration on the N ew Part nership for Afric a’s Develo pment,

Reca lling a lso it s resol ution 57/7 o f 4 Nov ember 2002 on the final review and

appr aisal of th e Uni ted N ations New Agend a for the Devel opment of Africa in t he

1990 s and suppo rt for the New P artners hip for Afri ca’s Develo pment and a ll its

subs equent resolu tions, includ ing r esolutio n 70 /29 5 of 25 July 2016, entitle d “Ne w

Part nership for A frica’s Develop ment: progress in i mplemen tation and i nternati onal

supp ort” ,

Reaffi rming its resolu tion 70/1 of 25 Sep tember 2015, en titled “Transfor ming

our worl d: the 2030 Agenda fo r Sustainable De velopment” , in which it adopted a

compr ehensive, far-re aching and people -centred set of univers al a nd tr ansformati ve

Sustai nable De velopment Goals and tar gets, its commitm ent to worki ng tirele ssly for

the full imple mentation of the Agend a by 2030, its reco gnition th at eradi cating

povert y i n a ll i ts forms and dimensi ons, includin g e xtreme povert y, is the greates t

global cha llenge and an indispe nsable require ment for sustainab le develop ment, its

commit ment to ac hieving su stainable de velopment in its thre e dimensio ns – economic,

social and env ironmental – in a bal anced and integrated manner, and to building upon

the achievemen ts of the Mil lennium Developme nt Goals and seeking to addre ss th eir

unfinis hed busine ss,

Reaf firming also its resoluti on 69 /313 o f 27 J uly 20 15, e ntitled “Addis Abab a

Acti on Agen da of t he Third Intern ational Confere nce on Financi ng for Develop ment

(Add is A baba Action Ag enda)”, whi ch i s an int egral part of the 2030 Age nda for

Sust ainable Dev elopmen t, supports an d compleme nts it, helps to co ntextual ize its

mean s of imp lementa tion targets wit h c oncrete poli cies and action s, a nd r eaffirms

the strong pol itical commi tment to address the chall enge of f inancing and crea ting

an enab ling enviro nment at all leve ls for sustain able devel opment in the spi rit of

glob al partn ership a nd solid arity,
