The General Assembl y,
Aware t hat the d evelopm ent of f riendly relat ions am ong nati ons, bas ed on
respe ct for the principl e of equal r ights and se lf-dete rminatio n of peoples , is among
the p urposes and pri nciples of the U nited N ations, as defin ed in th e Chart er,
Reca llin g, in th is re gard, its re solution 2 625 (XX V) of 24 O ctober 19 70,
entit led “D eclarati on on P rinciple s of Inte rnationa l Law co ncerning F riendly
Rela tions an d Coope ration a mong St ates in accorda nce with the Ch arter o f the
