49/64. Cooperation between the United Nations and
the Organization of African Unity
The General Assembly,
Having considered the report of the Secretary-General of 7 October 1994
on cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization of African
Unity, 1/
Recalling the agreement of 15 November 1965 on cooperation between the
United Nations and the Organization of African Unity as updated and signed on
9 October 1990 by the Secretaries-General of the two organizations,
Recalling also its resolutions on the enhancement of cooperation between
the United Nations and the Organization of African Unity, in particular
resolutions 43/12 of 25 October 1988, 43/27 of 18 November 1988, 44/17 of
1 November 1989, 45/13 of 7 November 1990, 46/20 of 26 November 1991, 47/148
of 18 December 1992 and 48/25 of 29 November 1993,
Recalling further that in its resolutions 46/20, 47/148 and 48/25 it,
inter alia, urged the Secretary-General and the relevant agencies of the
United Nations system to extend their support for the establishment of an
African economic community,
