Prosecutors and judges who sentenced Sadyr Japarov to imprisonment quit on their own - Chairman of Supreme Court

Those who illegally initiate criminal cases and put people in prison should be punished, MP Janar Akaev said at a meeting of the Parliament.

The MP recalled the acquittal of lawyer Kamil Ruziev, ex-Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, as well as the case of Sadyr Japarov.

"We need to change the law. People who illegally initiated a criminal case should be either deprived of the opportunity to work in law enforcement agencies for life, or they should be punished. For example, Sadyr Japarov was acquitted, but were the prosecutors and the judge who imprisoned him punished? This is a public matter," Janar Akayev said.

They were not officially punished within the framework of the law, chairman of the Supreme Court Zamirbek Bazarbekov said.
