Prime cost of electricity makes $0.028 for 1 kWh in Kyrgyzstan

The prime cost of electricity makes 2.38 soms ($0.028) for 1 kWh, Minister of Energy Talaibek Ibraev said at the plenary session of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan on February 1.

The Minister of Energy said there are 8 big and 14 small hydropower plants in the country. The installed capacity of power plants makes 3,630 MW, whereas electricity consumption has grown to 3,740 MW in 2022. The average price for imported electricity makes 3 soms per 1 kWh.

The cost of generation of electricity at the hydropower plant makes 0.20 soms. However...
