Pharmaceutical companies obliged to mark medicines in Kyrgyzstan with launch of medicines tracking system

The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on introduction of medicines tracking system will enter into force since mid-February in Kyrgyzstan.

The Medicines Department said pharmaceutical companies importing medicines to Kyrgyzstan should sticker unmarked medicines, which were imported to Kyrgyzstan already.

This would require purchase of thermal transfer printers, sticker materials, barcode scanners for starting the procedure of stickering packs of medicines.

More than 6,500 items of medicines were registered in Kyrgyzstan. Above 50 pharmaceutical companies are active in wholesale and retail trade of medicines in Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyzstan started introduction of the electronic database of medicines in 2015-2016. The country has chosen the Turkish system. Turkiye was chosen as the country with successful introduction of the medicines electronic database. The World Health Organizations designates...
