Osce-backed Multilateral Border Security Training Concludes in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - An OSCE-supported five-day training course on risk profiling at border checkpoints to assist authorities in countering transnational threats concluded in Astana on 28 April 2017, the organization said in a release on Monday.

Twenty-four instructing officers of the Border Service of Kazakhstan's National Security Committee took part in the training seminar on "Best Global Practices in Profiling". It is the third and final stage of a larger project co-organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Astana with the United States Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian Regional Information Co-ordination Centre for Combating the Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC) since 2016.Experts from Israel, the Russian Federation and the United States provided border guards with an overview of the risk profiling systems in their countries.
