Lawmaker Raises Question of Long Consideration of Bill on 30% Gender Quote in Local Councils

AKIPRESS.COM - On the occasion of the International Women's Day, lawmaker Aisuluu Mamashova addressed her colleagues on March 7 to raise a number of problems.

"Domestic battery and violence against women and children is growing annually. But these domestic problems are addressed and controlled only by the women.

Only women are interested in addressing social problems, whereas men are more into politics. Parliament has factions that do not have a single female member, we don't have women mayors of towns, and we don't have women heads of local governments," she said.

"But we have so many professionals among women. Are they less worthy? Why do women cannot climb up to top management even in social sectors?" she asked.
