Kyrgyzstan, Iran Parliaments Bolster Ties

AKIPRESS.COM - Speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament Mr Chynybai Tursunbekov met with his Iranian counterpart Mr Ali Larijani on April 25 as part of his trip to Iran, the press office of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.

The two Speakers discussed bolstering of ties between parliaments.Tursunbekov called the meeting symbolic as the two sides mark 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations in 2017. "I am certain that the current visit of the parliament delegation will open a new page not only in interparliamentary cooperation, but will also give a powerful momentum to bolstering the whole range of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Iran," Tursunbekov said.

Both sides voiced the importance of activation of activities of a friendship group between Kyrgyzstan and Iran."Having voiced the low trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Iran, Tursunbekov said that the opening of direct flights and facilitation of visa requirements for Iranian citizens will boost the trade and create proper conditions for enhancing cooperation in agriculture, trade, hydropower, tourism fields," the statement said.
