Holidays for school students in Uzbekistan extended due to cold weather

Holidays for school students in Uzbekistan were extended until January 23, Gazeta.uz reports with reference to regional administrations. It was planned to resume studies on January 18, but the authorities decided to extend the holidays, taking into account the persistence of cold weather. The holidays for school students were supposed to end on January 5 in accordance with the schedule.

The government of Uzbekistan on January 10 allowed the regional authorities to independently determine the vacation schedule, depending on the weather and conditions. The authorities of most regions announced on the night of January 11 the resumption of studies from January 11, despite the ongoing frost. It was planned to resume studies in Karakalpakstan from January 12.
