Electric filters of Bishkek combined heat and power plant were turned off during technical audit - Minister of Natural Resources

The Bishkek combined heat and power plant (BCHPP) is one of the main air pollution contributors. It was checked just one time for 10 years, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Dinara Kutmanova said during a roundtable discussion on fight against smog on February 7.

The Ministry of Natural Resources ordered a technical audit of the BCHPP from a Russian company in 2022 on a grant basis, she said.

"I received a technical audit report on January 30. I just needed the confirmation of my guesses, I did not have the tool to prove that before," Minister Kutmanova said.
