Control system of energy supply in Uzbekistan switches to enhanced mode of operation

The control system in energy supply of Uzbekistan has been switched to an emergency mode of operation for two years, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated at a meeting on February 6.

The meeting participants discussed problems in the system of supplies and payments for energy resources. The January frosts showed that management and control in this area have significantly weakened.

"Contrary to reports from responsible organizations that the automated electricity consumption metering system has been implemented by 92%, and the automated natural gas consumption metering system by 98%, accounts receivable for these types of resources remain high," the presidential press service said.

The district departments of electricity and gas supply issue permission to connect to networks without proper calculations and analysis. Transformers in 120 mahallas (communities) of Tashkent were repaired 5-6 times a month, as they could not withstand the load.
