Your Excellency,

I would like to thank for the Note dated June

1,

2000 in which the Government

of

the

Republic

of

Columbia has expressed the interest for establishing diplomatic relations

between our two countries.

On

this occasion, I would like to reiterate the interest

in

establishing diplomatic relations

between the Republic

of

Macedonia

and

the Republic

of

Colombia, which would be

determined by mutual respect and sovereign equality

of

the states and based on the

principles contained in the United Nations Charter and Vienna Convention on

Diplomatic Relations

of

1961.

For this purpose , I inform Your Excellency that I agree with the proposal that the

Note

of

your esteemed Government

and

this Note

in

replay shall constitute the

Agreement

of

the establishment

of

diplomatic relations between our two countries, which

shall enter into force on the date

of

the later notification.

At the same time, I would like

to

state my conviction that by establishing diplomatic

relations, the futute relations between our two countries would be further strengthened

and deepened, both at bilateral and international level.

I avail myself

of

this opportunity to renew

to

Your Excellency the assurances

of

my

highest consideration.
